The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released the NASMLA Grade 3 Midline Study Report to provide insights into learner performance, competency acquisition, and the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) in Kenyan primary schools. The report presents findings from the midline assessment conducted among Grade 3 learners, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and other core learning competencies aimed at improving education quality and learner outcomes.
The study serves as an important monitoring and evaluation tool for assessing progress in curriculum implementation and identifying areas that require intervention by education stakeholders, including teachers, school administrators, curriculum developers, policymakers, and parents. Through the findings, the report highlights trends in learner achievement, teaching and learning practices, assessment approaches, and institutional preparedness within the CBC framework.
The NASMLA Grade 3 Midline Study Report further provides recommendations intended to strengthen instructional delivery, learner support systems, assessment strategies, and policy implementation to enhance competency acquisition and overall education standards in Kenya.
